Mycoplasma Genitalium
Mycoplasma Genitalium is a sexually transmitted disease (STD) which is often asymptomatic or with no symptom and is bacterial in nature that bears some similarities in chlamydia and gonorrhea. This occurs oftenly in association with some other infections in both males and females. Doctors still find it very difficult to diagnose this infection. According to some research in United States, mycoplasma genitalium has become the third most common sexually transmitted disease that is diagnosed to young people.
In females, mycoplasma genitalium has been linked in some conditions such as bacterial vaginosis wherein an unusual bacteria occurs in the vagina and it changes the natural pH balance and causes unpleasant discharges and fleshy smell, cervicitis in which lower genital tract became infected and causing inflammation of the cervix, PID or pelvic inflammatory disease and infection at the endometrial lining or endometritis.Women who have given birth prematurely can also cause mycoplasma genitalium.
In men, mycoplasma genitalium is said to be diagnosed if he suffers urethritis or the inflammation of the urethra that is not acquired or caused by gonorrhea and chlamydia. Sometimes, in men, mycoplasma genitalium is asymptomatic but on the other hand, males also experiences signs and symptoms of mycoplasma genitalium. This includes urethral discharges, painful or burning sensation when urinating and arthritis or swelling and pain in the joints. If you experience any of these, be tested now at Mycoplasma Test. Mycoplasma Genitalium can also be called Non-Specific Urethritis as said at Mycoplasma NSU and test kits can be bought online at the STI Clinic.

Mycoplasma Genitalium and Condom
Not all doctors perhaps have heard of Mycoplasma Test. It was mentioned in one of the articles that I have read since initially it is not a common sexually transmitted disease. Nonetheless, it is also an alien thing to me. But when I learned that it is a sexually transmitted disease, I generalized what it means. I did not go into the specifics until I decided to read about it. Like most sexual diseases, it can be acquired through sexual intercourse, anal sex and oral sex. In 2007, it seemed to have surpassed gonorrhea in prevalence to become the third most common STD among young people in the United States. It can be related to urethritis for men and cervictis for women. It is also related to bacterial vaginosis. They say that one can prevent it by using condom. Men are asked to wear condom in order to avoid having a sexually transmitted disease. The sad thing about it is that men tend to be forgetting about the use of condom because they are carried away by their strong sexual desire. It is important for men to bring condom not only to protect themselves but also their sexual partner. Most sexually transmitted diseases have few symptoms. One cannot easily detect if one has it. The most important of them all is that if one will have sex with an unknown partner, he must make it a point that he is wearing condom. We can never tell what will happen. It is for this reason why doctors highly encourage us to wear condom in order to avoid having sexual diseases like Mycoplasma NSU.
